Architecture and Server Requirements for Xfmea Enterprise Databases
When you choose to use an Enterprise database with ReliaSoft's Xfmea 5 software, this is a client-server implementation in which the Xfmea software must be installed on each user's computer and each client application connects with a centralized database that resides on a network server running Oracle or SQL Server.

Database Server Requirements
- Most RAID 5 compatible servers that you can buy today will have more than enough power to handle up to 100 users of this system. Our minimum recommendation for the server is the following: Pentium 4 at 2 GHz, 1 GB of RAM, 3 - 10,000 rpm SCSI drives configured in Raid 5, and some kind of backup tape drive.
- Windows XP (service pack 2 or higher), Vista or Windows 7.
- Microsoft SQL Server 2005/8 or Oracle 10g/11g.
- The software is also compatible with the "Express" edition of SQL Server (which is distributed at no cost by Microsoft). If your expected load for the database fits within the limited capabilities of the Express Edition (as specified by Microsoft), click here for detailed instructions on installing and configuring SQL Server 2008 Express Edition to work with Xfmea 5.
- NOTE: ReliaSoft is a Microsoft Certified Partner and authorized Microsoft reseller. We can assist you in purchasing and deploying SQL Server.
Client Requirements
- Must meet the minimum requirements for the Xfmea software.
- Must have network access to the database server.
